A Bit About Tania...
Hello, hello! I’m Tania Santoso (she/her) and I’m a Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Portland State University.
A big part of my identity is being Indonesian as I was born and raised there. My upbringing in Indonesia has deeply influenced my perspective on counseling, as a result, I bring a culturally sensitive approach to my practice, ensuring that every client receives personalized and effective support. Embracing the spectrum of human experience, I collaborate with individuals of diverse ages, including children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and the elderly. I bring a wealth of experience and a passion for facilitating growth and healing, in navigating anxiety, depression, generational trauma, interpersonal conflict, and the multifaceted journey of self-discovery which includes guiding individuals through life's transitions, whether they be in relationships, careers, or personal identity.
I draw from several therapeutic modalities, including Client-centered therapy, Narrative therapy, Art therapy, Cognitive-behavior therapy Mindfulness-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and even Dungeon and Dragon’s therapy (fun fact: I’m a huge nerd!). As a counselor, I see our work as a collaboration between you, the client, and myself. Through a combination of these approaches, we will work together to help you grow and develop toward the best version of yourself (another fun fact: that definition can and will change over time, and that’s okay!).
Embarking on a journey of growth and change can be challenging but also one of the most fulfilling experiences. I firmly believe that having someone who believes in you can make a world of difference. That's why I am here to support you and help you realize your potential. As humans, we are made up of a multitude of facets that shape who we were, who we are, and who we aspire to become. I believe it's important to acknowledge and accept all aspects of ourselves. I'm committed to exploring with you what makes you unique, what you value, and what motivates you to achieve your goals. Together, we can discover the path toward a more fulfilling and authentic life.
