Catie Hardman

A bit About Catie...

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from George Fox University. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, relational, and culturally responsive care.

I have had the privilege of working with clients of all ages and relational systems, including individuals, families, parent/child dyads, and couples, as well as with Poly, Queer, Trans, and BIPOC folx. I am experienced in supporting clients from a wide variety of spiritual, cultural, and social identities, including neurodivergent individuals. I strive to provide an affirming and inclusive space where everyone feels seen and valued.

My areas of focus include complex trauma, relationship stress and conflict, intimate partner violence and coercive control, perinatal mental health, adult ADHD, and parenting support. I'm especially passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves and others in more grounded, meaningful ways.

My initial focus in working with clients is to build a strong, secure therapeutic relationship. I believe trust, connection, and safety are essential before meaningful therapeutic growth can take place. This may involve a more extended assessment process as we begin to understand your experiences, strengths, and goals. From there, I collaborate with clients to create intentional goals and tailor treatment to meet their unique needs and circumstances.

My therapeutic approach centers on supporting nervous system regulation and healing through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I work from a foundation that integrates systemic, attachment-based, trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and humanistic perspectives. I draw from a range of talk therapy, expressive, and somatic techniques to meet clients where they are.

I’m fully trained in EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, Systemic Family Therapy, Circle of Security Parenting, Motivational Interviewing, and Prepare & Enrich premarital and relationship assessment. My specialized training also includes Emotion-Focused Therapy, Restoration Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Therapy Interventions, grief and loss, gender-affirming and neurodiversity-affirming care, and support for survivors of intimate partner and family violence through the YWCA of Clark County and the Washington State Coalition.

I offer a compassionate and collaborative space where you can feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Therapy with me is about more than just coping, it’s about healing, reclaiming your story, and building relationships rooted in safety, trust, and connection. However, I’m not a therapist who will simply nod and agree, I believe in offering a space where compassion and curiosity go hand-in-hand with honest reflection. When resistance, barriers, or opportunities for growth emerge, I gently bring them into the conversation. These moments, when handled with care and non-judgment, often hold the key to deeper healing and lasting change.
