A Bit About Alexis...
Hello there! My name is Alexis Klein (she/her), and I am a clinical mental health counseling intern from Grand View University. I received my Bachelor's degree in psychology and human services from Grand View University as well. My passion and understanding of the power of counseling sprouted from regularly attending therapy since I was a young child. From this experience, I have always wanted to spread empathetic listening, understanding, and support for others in the same ways my own therapists have supported me!
I am particularly interested in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal relationship conflicts, and struggles with low self-esteem and stress. My approach to therapy includes several therapeutic modalities, such as person- or client-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, art and play therapy, emotionally focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
In my counseling practice, I recognize the importance of maintaining cultural, gender, and sexuality sensitivity, as well as providing trauma-informed care for all the clients I work with. I strive to make therapy a safe, empathetic, genuine, and empowering space for you—no matter what. My work with clients heavily involves unconditional compassion, judgment-free curiosity, and acceptance.
Personally, I identify as a bisexual White female. Outside of therapy, I am a huge lover of all things art, reading, nature, and mindfulness. Embarking on a therapeutic journey is an amazing step toward reaching the full potential you deserve in life, and I look forward to collaboratively walking with you every step of the way!
