A Bit About Jasmine...
Hello, my name is Jasmine Hankerson and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the state of Washington. I have my Master's degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from George Fox University and my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Portland State University. I am a proud Assiniboine Native American and Black American woman with she/her pronouns.
My primary focus is treating trauma including sexual assault, physical abuse, verbal abuse and survivors of domestic violence. I am also passionate about working with children/ adolescents, family conflict, anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, relationship issues, life transitions, identity exploration, self-esteem, systemic/institutional challenges, LGBTQIA2S+ issues, harm reduction, and non-suicidal self injurious behaviors.
My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, meaning you can bring whatever you want into the space at your own pace. I encourage people to progress toward self-actualization and recognize the strengths they already have. I strive to create an affirming, non-judgmental, safe place where you are free to talk about whatever is important to you.
I hold specialized training in treating victims of sexual assault/abuse through Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Play Therapy and Emotionally Focused therapy for couples.
I am generally a non-directive therapist, but I encourage us to reach beyond any barriers or blocks for your unique healing process. Therapy with me is a collaborative process where we can have fun (laugh a lot or maybe cry), speak the unspeakable and open up new opportunities for you.
