A Bit About Kiley...
I am a clinical mental health counseling intern from Seattle University. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI.
I value authenticity and believe that showing up as my genuine self in all aspects of life creates a safe and trustworthy environment for others to do the same. I believe this is an essential element for therapeutic growth and healing to begin. Every individual deserves to feel heard, understood, and to thrive in an environment of unconditional positive regard. I also believe in holistic healing, focusing not only on mental health but also on the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellness and the interconnectedness between them.
My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, identity-affirming, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. I utilize a variety of techniques from different therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Gestalt Therapy, and somatic interventions.
I have experience working with individuals aged 14 and older who have experienced struggles with anxiety, depression, severe stress/situational stressors, trauma, relationship problems, suicidal thoughts, struggles surrounding identity, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and healthy coping, as well as issues related to spirituality. I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating minor and major life transitions or changes, self-identity concerns, stress management, and clients looking to increase self-awareness. I also enjoy working with clients coming to therapy for the first time, LGBTQ+ teens, and individuals across the gender and sexuality spectrums.
