Lilian Egondi

A bit About Lilian...

I am a Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Mary, ND, Bismarck, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Mount Kenya University, Nairobi-Kenya.

I have a background working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, young and older adults. My clinical work involves addressing behavioral challenges, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, familial dynamics, occupational stressors, adjustment/transitional challenges, academic/career counseling, loss&grief, relational challenges, and general life stressors. Additionally, I have provided both individualized and group support to victims of domestic violence and individuals facing systemic marginalization.

My approach to understanding and conceptualizing my clients' challenges is primarily based on Schema Therapy, with integrated interventions/techniques from various modalities such as Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Feminist Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Practices, and Somatic Experiencing (SE).

I prioritize a strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and collaborative approach, ensuring that my clients have an active voice in their treatment. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, supported by specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

My goal is to create a warm, safe, and empowering space where clients can explore their strengths, overcome challenges, foster resilience, and develop a sense of control over their own well-being.
