A bit About Serene...
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Seattle University, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Human Development and Women’s Studies from Washington State University Vancouver.
I believe healing happens in relationships where we feel safe, seen, and accepted. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed space where you can explore how your lived experiences and relationships have shaped your sense of self, belonging, and safety, and reconnect with your most authentic self.
My approach integrates relational-cultural therapy, attachment-based therapy, person-centered therapy, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I honor how culture and oppression influence our life experiences and the complexities of navigating multicultural identities, familial and societal pressures, acculturation, and intergenerational trauma. I have passion for supporting BIPOC and other marginalized communities who may feel caught between worlds or struggle to find their place within dominant culture. My work also focuses on supporting young adults through anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and life transitions. Together, we can work toward empowerment, authenticity, and deeper connection.
