Karrie Savarese

Trauma, LGBTQ+ & Addiction Recovery Therapy for Adults

A bit About Karrie...

I’m a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern currently working toward my Master’s degree at Seattle University. I also hold a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Bastyr University which informs my approach to counseling.

I work primarily with adults focusing on trauma, overcoming major life challenges, and reclaiming a sense of self and identity exploration. I’m especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ clients and helping individuals find long-term recovery from addiction. I recognize that recovery is not one-size-fits-all and is often shaped by identity, community, stigma, and systemic barriers.

My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to show up as your full self, without judgment.

I pull from many different theories, but my approach is often values-based and grounded in existential therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I help clients build self-awareness, navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned with their values.

My work is grounded in a holistic perspective. I believe that mental health is deeply connected to the whole person integrating their emotional well-being with lifestyle and personal meaning.
